Caminar por Bulgaria es sentirte en un país que parece estar creado para eso. En cada sitio, en cada pueblo, e incluso en el medio de las montañas y las rutas, hay pequeños bebederos de agua potable. También en los pueblos cada casa tiene su propia huerta y su parra de uvas, y no solo que esta libre poder cortar un racimo de uvas, sino que la mayoría de la gente al verte pasar te invita a conocerte y regalarte un racimo para tu viaje. A veces también pueden ser duraznos, peras y hasta manzanas. Tener frutas y agua durante el camino, sin dudas garantiza un buen día de Trekking.
La gente en las grandes ciudades parece estar más sorprendida de ver turistas que en los pueblos, donde es tanta la alegría que les da verte caminar que actúan como si estuvieran acostumbrados a ver gente pasar cada 10 minutos, a pesar de que tal vez no pasa nadie caminando con mochila por allí desde hace más de un año. Gran diferencia a los pueblos de Argentina, donde ver pasar a alguien caminando ya genera una mirada extraña.
Los gatos son otra particularidad de Bulgaria, están en todos lados. Hay de todos los colores, de todos los tamaños, sueltos, en sus casas, salvajes, solos, en familia, en grupos, como los imagines. Quien vive en Argentina estará acostumbrado a ver algún perro pedirte comida mientras uno come. Acá eso no sucede, porque sucede con los gatos. Uno puede sentarse a comer afuera incluso en un restaurante, y a los minutos podés estar rodeado de gatos que te miran con cara angelical para pedirte comida.
Otra característica de Bulgaria es su bello nacionalismo o patriotismo, o su simple amor a su país. A tal punto que no existe casi comida que le falte un color para completar los colores de la bandera del país. El rojo, el verde y el blanco se combinan en diferentes ingredientes para casi siempre cumplir con la bandera. A veces no se necesita, pero un simple condimento lo termina logrando. También, ya son varias las personas que nos hablan de la música de Bulgaria que fue elegida para ser enviada al espacio, e incluso en cada auto donde viajes, o en cada casa donde entres se puede escuchar la música tradicional folklórica que los identifica y mucho.

Luego de Melnik y su rico vino, me tocó volver a Sofia. Allí tuve la suerte de cruzarme con una gran persona y excelente artista, Teodora me mostró otra parte de Bulgaria, su arte, y su gente desde otra perspectiva.
Si hablamos de arte, Plovdiv no solo es una de las cinco ciudades más viejas del mundo, sino que ademas el año próximo será la ciudad del arte europea. Allí encontramos a Tania, una Bella persona de Couchsurfing y a un dúo musical alemán, Dúo Dopico, con el cual ya estamos planeado proyectos conjuntos con Chacay para el año próximo.
Ya en las montañas Rodope, uno puede encontrarse con un paisaje hermosamente diferente, lleno de colores diversos en las montañas por el otoño y con puertas abiertas en cada casa para compartir buenos momentos, ricas comidas, buena música, incluso sin poder comunicarse al menos que sepas utilizar bien las señas.
Serán varios días más en Rodope para luego llegar al mar negro. Queda más de un mes en Bulgaria, y ya es un destino que por varios motivos obliga a volver.
Bulgaria, made for walking.
Walking in Bulgaria makes you feel beeing in a country created for that. In every place, every town, also in the middle of the mountains and the roads, there are small fountains with drinking water. In the towns, every house has its own vegetable garden and their grapes. It would be free to take some of these grapes, but most of the people that see you passing by just invite you and give you grapes for your way, sometimes also peaches, pears or apples. Having fruits in your way defenetly garantizes a great trecking day.
The people in the bigger cities seem to be more surprised by seeing to see tourists, while in the villages all the people are so happy to see you walking by, they act like they where used to people with backpacks pass by, but actually doesent happen for a more than a year. This is a big difference to the argentinean towns, where you always get strange looks.
The cats are another particular thing about Bulgaria - they are everywhere, in every colour, big, small, living in the street or in houses, wild ones, alone, as a family, in big groups or however you can imagine. Who lives in Argentina might be used to see some dog asking for food when you are eating something. Hete it does not happen, because it happens with the cats. If you sit to eat outside, even in restaurants, some minutes later there will be just cats around you to look at you with their angelic faces, asking for food.
Another caracteristic thing about Bulgaria is their nice kind of patriotism, or just simple love to their country. There is almist no typical dish where there is misding one of the flag colours. The red, the green and the white are combinated by different ingredients, almost always creating the flag colours. Sometimes it is not even necessary, but a simple ingredient makes it complete.
Also there are a lot of persons talking us about the Bulgarien music that was chosen to be sent into space. In almost all the cars we are travelling, in every house you enter, you will hear that traditional folk music what identifies them a lot.

After Melnik and the good wines, I got back to Sofia. There I was lucky to meet a great person and excelent artist. Teodora showed me another part of Bulgaria, its art and the people, from another perspective.
Talking about art: Plovdiv is not only one of the five oldest cities in the world, also next year it will be the european capital of culture. There we met Tanya, a wonterful person from couchsurfing, and a german music duo, Duo Dopico. With them we are already planning projects with Chacay for next year.
Now in the Rhodope Mountains, we see different and beautiful landscapes, full of autumn colours and with open doors in every house to share nice moments, delicious food, great music, often without talking, just with signs.
It will be some more days here in Rhodope, to later go to the black sea. Its still more than a month that we will have in Bulgaria, and its already a places to come back again for many reasons.
